Congratulations to Elise Howard '23...

Elise Howard '23 is the Proud Recipient of the Class of 1990 Scholarship

Congratulations to Elise Howard, Seton Class of 2023, who is the proud recipient of the Class of 1990 Scholarship. The Class of 1990 was on schedule to celebrate their 30 year reunion in September when suddenly the world shut down due to Covid-19. In spite of all the hard work they put into getting plans in place for their special event, never in a million years would they have imagined that, in the blink of an eye, a pandemic would bring their joy to a grinding stop.

Although their plans may have been temporarily delayed, their heart strings continued to be tugged. They forged on with the one thing they could control, and that was their plan to raise enough money in their 30th year to bless one student at Elizabeth Seton High School with a scholarship, and that is exactly what they did.

On behalf of the Class of 1990, reunion committee members Tamisha Kelly Smith, Stephanie Murray Williams, Tonya Allen-Shaw, and Katrice Kelly, virtually presented to an overjoyed sophomore, Elise Howard, a generous scholarship for tuition assistance; the gift came at just the right time.  Elise graciously stated, "I would just like to say thank you again to the Class of 1990 for granting me this scholarship. I feel so blessed to have been chosen to receive it. When we first heard, it was a shock to me and my mother that we are this fortunate. Despite the many challenges my family is facing during this pandemic, this is the best thing that could have happened to us."  Tamisha Kelly Smith and her classmates are committed to carrying out the Class of 1990's mission, "As we continue to take steps to celebrate our 30th reunion, the Class of 1990 is committed to Service and uplifting Seton Sisterhood.  Despite the times we are in, we are proud to show our appreciation to ESHS and to continue the legacy through scholarship."

Thank you to the Class of 1990 for being a blessing to a Seton Sister during a time of uncertainty and a new norm, and for a continued pursuit to uphold the legacy of Seton Sisterhood.
